Since I met the owner years ago (Jeff Varasano) I've called this creation of his "The BBC"...... It is ALL about the crust and this is the crust from Italy with little Blisters, Bubbles and some Char . . . (thus the BBC) PERFECT~O'! I love the Caramelized Onion w/sausage & HOT PEPPERS, it is really Great! With that crust, you can't go wrong in ANY selection on the menu really. This is True Italy, not that 'pie' in NY... so Yo' Vinny-T and Joey-D take off the gold chains and Fuhgeddaboudit and eat REAL ITALIAN PIZZA here at Varrazano's! (All joking aside, IF you are looking for a "NYC" Slice - Vintage Pizza has the best crust for that "foldable slice".... So while the pizza I LOVE (Caramelized Onion with sausage and HOT PEPPERS) sounds like a strange combination, it works because the contrasts are great and the "kick" of those peppers makes it! ! ! ! . . . . . . . ..
