cicig's Mofongo list
I'm rating this as a mofongo dish. If I rated it as a shrimp dish, it would have failed since there are only two pieces of shrimp and they were overcooked. I'm sure it was carryover cooking since the dish had to be transported, but this is a ghost kitchen so there's no eating it there. That really needs to be taken into account since everyone is going to be transporting their dishes. The mofongos had a very good texture and good flavor, but I am used to having them filled with some delicious meat and usually a sauce or juice. There was very little criolla sauce and it didn't make a significant difference in the dish. Although the mofongo was tasty enough to eat all by itself, I prefer to have it swimming in some tasty meat. I am reluctant to try one of their other mofongos because I worry that it would likewise have very little meat with it. The rice was flavorful and delicious. It reminded me of Jamaican rice in the flavor profile. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever had pigeon peas.
