REALLY GOOD
1st THE PEASANT BURGER
The Local Peasant - Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles
This burger patty may be the best I've ever had. They make it in house and it is juicy, flavorful, and had wonderful texture. I always enjoy an egg on a burger and the grilled onions were good. I added cheese and thick cut steak fries which were both good but a little disappointed about needing to add them and how much I got for the cost. The bun was just okay.
PRETTY GOOD
2nd WESTERN BACON CHEESEBURGER
Carl's Jr., Los Angeles
1st round Burgermeister winner. Patty was a little dry but had some decent flavor to itself. Bacon was not crisp enough but the onion ring gave it since decent crunch still. Barbecue sauce a little much, but comes together as a unit better than any of the individual parts.
JUST OK
3rd BACONATOR
Wendy's, Los Angeles
Round 1 Burgermeister competition. Too plain in my opinion, just meat and meat with very little ketchup. Meat a little dry and greasy without much inherent flavor.
NOT FOR ME
4th ORIGINAL WHOPPER
Burger King, San Fernando
Round 1 Burgermeister. Very mediocre forgettable burger with bad tomato and onion. Once I removed the toppings it was just bland and flavorless but not actively bad. 1.875/5
5th DOUBLE DEL CHEESEBURGER
Del Taco, Los Angeles
Round 1 of Burgermeister. I would say it was absolutely disappointing if I didn't expect it to be bad already. Bun worse than Wonderbread, meat was very dry and dense and flavorless, cheese was glutinous and rubbery, toppings actually not as bad as the whopper though.
