REALLY GOOD
1st MIXED GYROS
To Kefi (Greek Restaurant & Cafe), Kingston upon Thames
About as good as you can do it with “British ingredients”.. also try the pork gyros on its own, proper crunchy and delicious. Will be back for more!
2nd PORK GYROS
Ο Γύρος Του Φάρου, Dafni
New top on my list! I was pretty lucky with very tasty seared meat. The biggest I've had in a single serving (it fills a plate) and it's only £2.30 - absolute steal.
4th PORK GYROS
7 γεύσεις, Elliniko
Really well made, tasty cuts of pork
PRETTY GOOD
5th PORK GYROS
Ψητοπωλείο "Ο Κώστας", Imittos
Better than the picture indicates, nice tasteful pork pieces and fries
7th PORK GYROS
The Gyro Club, Richmond
Completely ok meal, wished there was more taste to the meat tho
11th PORK KALAMAKI GYROS
BIFTEKOPOLEIO (Stavros) Since 1960, Kallithea
Super popular place with locals, but I had higher expectations for these, lean meat. only €2.20 for a gyros, cheaper than central athens
13th PORK GYROS
Bairaktaris, Athina
Consider asking for a bit less tzatziki.. €2.50
14th PORK KALAMAKI GYROS
Kostas, Athina
Very hyped. Very small. No potatoes. That's what you get when you order gyros from downtown?.. quality is good though
15th KEBAB GYROS
O Thanasis, Athina
Better than their pork gyros, but I wished there was more of the tasty kebab.. €2.70
16th PORK GYROS
Nostimo Mediterranean Gastronomy, London
In UK - this is "pretty good". Had it been in Greece, it would have been "OK"..
18th PORK GYROS
Prodorpion, Athina
A bit too meaty and too little fat (i.e taste) for me
19th PORK GYROS
Κάτι τι στον Υμηττό, Imittos
Looks better than it tasted, bland potatoes, meat bland but ok
20th PORK GYROS
O Thanasis, Athina
It's ok but I recommend to avoid. Meat not properly done. Most expensive so far (€2.80) and most disappointing - but it's in the midst of the tourist area. Better gyros is found down the road on right hand side, towards monastiraki..
21st PORK GYROS
EPIC Legendary Greek Streetfood, London
Little taste. As expected from a "British" gyros
