REALLY GOOD
1st STOWFORD PRESS CIDER
St Aldates Tavern, Oxford
Mrs. C wanted a cider - and the bartender suggested this one, known as "the official cider of England cricket". While I'm sure it's a refreshing sports beverage, Mrs. C was really hoping for something in the berry family. She still drank it, though!
2nd KOPPARBERG PEAR CIDER
Prince of Wales, London
A little too sweet for Mrs. C's taste - so she chased it with a shot of tequila.
JUST OK
3rd CARLING BRITISH CIDER
Maxlrain, Tuntenhausen
as Mrs. Carastian is complaining about the cider in UK being to tart and yuck, our dear Savage friends from Cambridge bought some Carling "cider" at the festival. NOTHING as renaissance as a canned drink, we say! And watching sword play is thirsty work. Thank god there was British Cider!!!
NOT FOR ME
4th IL SIDRO
Zizzi, London
Mrs. C thought a cider sounded good, but either this was a horrible one or her palate is just not made for cider. She sent it back, saying it tasted like smokey toilet water. So much for that! Bring on the wine list!
