1st PANCIA DI MAIALE ARROSTO CON SPINACHI, FAGIOLI CON LA COTICA, RICOTTA SALATA E PORREE

THAT on the other hand... was lovely - and the shot is not doing it justice. perfect tender pork belleh, with just the right amount of garlic, tender fall no need for a knife meat. the spinach was ok, but the beans were perfect with it. LOVE. if one would like to find the hair in the soup - the fat should have been cracklin !

The "Lazy Pig" dish was similarly prepared, crispy and crunchy slices of pork with a NOT spicy sauce (even though we specified they should turn up the heat!). Veggies were fresh and good - sauce was a 5 Spice-based brown sauce that Mr. C found to be a bit oily.

Now here's one gorgeous little slab of wood covered in porky goodness! Tender meat, fresh horseradish shavings and some nice brown bread with butter and veggies. Simply stunning Biergarten food - kicking off Beer Garden season proper! :*)

Staple Bavarian Biergarten item - never leave a piece of pork behind! Thinly slice, succulent, schweinebraten enjoyed best with shaved horseradish, pickles and beer!

36 Celsius. Lunchtime in Bavaria. Of course Mr. Carastian went to a Biergarten:-) one of the biggest, most traditional one, sporting all the things Biergarten. Bavarians? Check. Traditional outfits? Check. Stammtisch? Check (don't think about sitting there- unless it is YOUR Stammtisch). Rude Waiter? Check. Cold Pork roast? Check. Unfortunatly overpriced as can be. That is the Munich tack on that one has to endure. Good meat, don't get me wrong. But close to 9 EUR for a small plate... no way Jose. Better go to the country side for that.
