AMAZING
1st AD LIBITUM TEMPRANILLO BLANCO
IKARUS, Salzburg
A Tempranillo is of course, usually red... but this bottle takes you back in time to when it used to be white. This vintner (Juan Carlos Sancha) is reviving this heirloom variety of grape from the Rioja region to produce this INCREDIBLE wine. Do whatever you have to do to get a glass of it. Immediately. Rare and perfect.
REALLY GOOD
2nd FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA MERLOT 2011
Nob Hill, Salinas
Merlot - a.k.a. POS (power of suggestion...) only a day or two after seeing @Ms. Grobi spotting this gem, Mr. Carastian was not even thinking when walking through that supermarket, happy to be back on the Mainland where things are more reasonably priced. And he grabbed it. Dark luscious fruit, raspberry, blue berry with a bit of vanilla. thank you, for suggestive spotting, @Ms. Grobi ;-)
PRETTY GOOD
3rd WONDERLAND VINTAGE WINE
Casa de Peaches, Bavaria
Welcome to "Alice in Wonderland Murder Mystery night" with the Carastians! 8 lucky guests were invited to partake in some fun indoor garden party shenanigans with a WHOLE lot of drinking and finger pointing.
4th HIGHWAY TO HELL
Edeka Simmel Pullach, Pullach im Isartal
Boy oh boy.. how CAN one pass a bottle of wine sporting Angus and NOT buy it.. This Cabernet Sauvingon from the Barossa Valley was tasty, with hints of plum and chocolate. In general good but as much high quality Cab as the Guitar Hero Guitar is Rock'n'Roll.
