REALLY GOOD
1st KÄSESPÄZLE
Klosterwirt Chiemsee GmbH, Chiemsee
Not the Carastian's favorite place on the Fraueninsel (Chiemsee) yet when MomMom is there and can't walk - the one close to the boat wins. the Klosterwirt is - as the name indicates right next to the monastery (which is around since the 10th century) and around since the 16th century. A wee bit touristy, but Mrs. Carstian thoroughly enjoyed the Käsespätzle, Bavaria's version of the American Mac'n'Cheese. Home made noodles, emmentaler cheese, add crisp-a-licious onions and you have a winner.
2nd SPÄTZLE MIT SOSSE
Genussraum & Weinstube Traube, Remshalden
The little Carastian's obsession... tasty noodles with creamy gravy. Much healthier that french fries, to be sure. And in this restaurant, the creamy mushroom sauce was top shelf!
PRETTY GOOD
3rd SPÄTZLE MIT SOSSE
Lindners Hotels & Restaurants, Bad Aibling
Why we actually came. Little one KNOWS his Spätzle - and those are hands down the best you can get. light, fluffy not doughy, with a beautiful home made Sauce. Children in Bavaria live of that - and it is good!
3rd SPÄTZLE MIT SOSSE
Lindners Hotels & Restaurants, Bad Aibling
Little C's favorite joint in town... and his favorite dish, the classic spaetzle! Always a lovely homemade dish full of deep, dark gravy goodness.
