REALLY GOOD
1st CHICKEN NAMBAN TEISHOKU
Festival Mall, Muntinlupa
YAYOI KEN is the name of the restaurant. Fried chicken steak drizzled with house special sauce and topped with YAYOI tartar dressing. It was delicious.
2nd SINCERITY FRIED CHICKEN
Sincerity - Lucky Chinatown, Manila
Sincerity Cafe is located in Binondo, Philippines - the oldest Chinatown in the world. This restaurant was established in 1956, and is famous for its old-school fried chicken recipe. The chicken is lightly battered, crisp, and seasoned in a way that’s very different from the usual fast-food style - it’s more delicate, almost like tempura, and paired with a special dipping hot sauce.
3rd SALTED EGG FRIED CHICKEN
Wangfu Chinese Café, Parañaque
So far the best salted egg fried chicken I've tasted.
4th SPICY FRIED CHICKEN
Uncle John's, Makati City
Looks dry but it wasn't. Really good cheap eat! US$1.35 equivalent with a scoop of warm rice and gravy. Uncle John's competes with 7-11 in the Philippines.
6th CHICKEN FIESTA PLATE
Max's Restaurant, San Jose City
Established in 1945 in the Philippines, Max's Restaurant is known as "The House That Fried Chicken Built." Their recipe is often copied but never equaled. This meal costs the equivalent of US$5.
PRETTY GOOD
7th TORI KARAAGE TEISHOKU
Watami, Muntinlupa
Japanese fried chicken set. Lightly battered and dipped in a Japanese soya-based sauce. The rice was amazing - the type you could easily eat with chopsticks. Meal cost: US$6 equivalent.
JUST OK
8th FIESTA MEAL
Max’s, Bacoor
Max's is a fried chicken restaurant chain that began in 1945 in the Philippines. I remember their chicken to be much tastier than this one I had.
