1st DRUNKEN CIOPPINO
Karl Strauss Brewing Company, Carlsbad
Spicy, lots of seafood and a large serving. If only they served it with some bread to soak up all that goodness! Doesn't it look gorgeous? 💜 And guess what... this is my LAST Foodspotting import!!
2nd SEAFOOD BOUILLABAISSE
Noe Restaurant & Bar, Los Angeles
Salmon, mussels, clams, shrimp and scallop. Served with a beautiful toast. Sorry so dark. It was very good. I wish I had a whole plate of those scallops! it was fantastic!
REALLY GOOD
3rd LURE CIOPPINO
Lure Fish House, Ventura
Fire roasted tomato broth with fish, clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops. The shrimp scallops were the best. I wish there had been more of that in the cioppino.
4th MONTEREY CIOPPINO POT
Schooners Monterey, Monterey
Shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, seasonal fish, saffron-dungeness crab broth, grilled baguette. The broth is delicious. There is no crab in it. It's mostly fish, which does taste great...but I wish there had been more shellfish. The pictures online show baby octopus, so I was disappointed that there weren't any. Baguette was perfect.
JUST OK
5th BLESSED BY THE POPE CIOPPINO
Duke's Seafood, Tacoma
Dungeness crab, Alaska salmon, halibut, cod and Mexican shrimp. I couldn't tell there was any crab in it. Huge disappointment
