AMAZING
1st HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP
A & W Seafood Restaurant, Los Angeles
Wow! So good! Crispy and sweet. Definitely my favorite thing here.
2nd WALNUT SHRIMP
Mandarin King, Los Angeles
A favorite for years and years...
3rd SPICY SHRIMP BOIL
Wild Fish Restaurant, Pacific Grove
Large wild white prawns, chile, garlic, aromatic broth, white wine, tomatoes and risotto. Not too spicy for me but spicy enough. So delicious!
4th SHRIMP FRIED WONTONS
Rincome Restaurant, Los Angeles
Deep fried shrimp wrapped with wonton skin and served with plum sauce. OMG...yes!
REALLY GOOD
5th SWEET AND SOUR SHRIMP
Mandarin King, Los Angeles
Sweet and sour sauce on the side so that it doesn't get soggy during delivery. Super tasty!
6th HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP
Ms Chi Cafe, Culver City
Plum Sauce Aioli / Candied Walnuts
8th SHRIMP AND CHIPS
Dargans Irish Pub & Restaurant, Ventura
Harp beer battered shrimp with fries, coleslaw and cocktail sauce. These shrimp are huge and gorgeous!
9th SAUTÉED SHRIMP
BLVD Steak, Los Angeles
$32 for 3 pieces of shrimp... Okay, they ARE huge. The Cajun butter sauce and grilled toast are delicious. The shrimp was very dense. I had to cut it into pieces with a fork and knife because it was too hard to just take a bite of it. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't get it again.
11th POP ROCK SHRIMP
Lure Fish House, Ventura
Crispy shrimp bites with a sriracha glaze. Yum!
12th SHRIMP PLATE
Shrimp Daddy, Los Angeles
Garlic Butter shrimp, white rice with furikake, Li Hing pineapple chunks & Mac salad
13th POPCORN SHRIMP
Best Hikari Sushi, Los Angeles
I'm not going to lie, this is exactly the same as the frozen popcorn shrimp you buy in the store and deep fry. That said, my husband (who does not like sushi) loved it! Everyone else liked it too because we do buy that frozen stuff at the store for a reason.
14th GAMBARETTI ARRABIATA
Spumoni Restaurant, Los Angeles
Sautéed shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce with garlic. This was served as a starter and it hit all the right notes for me (shrimp and spicy). Provides a great dipping sauce for the complimentary focaccia.
16th COCONUT SHRIMP
viaSELFIE FUSION KITCHEN, Burbank
With Mango Habanero sauce. Huge shrimp and a tasty dish.
PRETTY GOOD
17th JAMAICAN BLACK PEPPER SHRIMP
The Cheesecake Factory, Los Angeles
Sauteed Shrimp with a Spicy Jamaican Black Pepper Sauce. Served with Rice, Black Beans, Plantains and a pineapple salsa. The shrimp were kind of small but they had a very good flavor. Pineapple salsa was very good and I always love me some plantains. The beans were just meh.
18th SPICY SHRIMP
Ruth's Chris Steak House, CA 91367
"lightly fried & tossed in spicy cream sauce". It is a little spicy (I don't know about a cream sauce though).
19th SHRIMP SKEWERS
California Fish Grill, Los Angeles
With Garlic Butter Sauce and white rice. The sauce was the best part.
20th GRILLED SHRIMP WITH PENNE ALFREDO
Hook'd Fish Grill, Los Angeles
It was good. Wish there had been more shrimp. Not a fan of leaving tails on when in a dish...
21st CAMARONGOS
La Casita de Cortez, Cortez
Shrimp - pretty good. Mushrooms - really good. Sauteed butter, garlic and a hint of Chardonnay.
22nd SHRIMP COCKTAIL
The Velvet Martini Lounge, Los Angeles
Jumbo prawns with house-made cocktail sauce. The sauce was weak (you could barely taste the horseradish). My husband thought it was ketchup...
23rd POPCORN SHRIMP
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, San Fernando
When you have a craving for shrimp, but you don't want to get out of the car... DRIVE THRU! Comes with Creole Cocktail Sauce. Spicy, crunchy goodness for $3.70. Score!
24th BEER BATTERED SHRIMP AND FRIES
San Pedro Brewing Company, Los Angeles
Served with coleslaw. The batter was good but the dish needed more seasoning. 9 pieces of shrimp of decent size. It's such a shame when a dish would have been wonderful had they just SEASONED it.
25th COCO LOCO PRAWNS
Duke's Seafood, Tacoma
Coconut encrusted wild Mexican prawns with sweet chili sauce
JUST OK
29th SHRIMP COCKTAIL
TGI Fridays, Los Angeles
I think the last time I ordered a shrimp cocktail was 30 years ago in downtown Las Vegas. It was $.99 and came in a plastic cup. This was a throwback! Very basic, but a novelty.
30th SPICY SHRIMP SCAMPI FRITTA
Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, Los Angeles
Lightly breaded and fried, tossed with garlic and a spicy cherry pepper sauce. It would be better if they didn't drown this in the sauce.
