AMAZING
1st EUN DAE GOO JORIM (BRAISED BLACK COD)
Soban LA, Los Angeles
OMG!!! This is the BEST black cod or any cooked fish I’ve ever had! Silky fish melted in my mouth like butter and we were literally having a foodgasm!! Not many places do this right and this place is the best in LA. Ranked #52 on the Top 101 Restaurant list (Not just Korean. All restaurants) by Jonathan Gold of LA Times, this place specializes on this particular dish. If you love spicy, you’d love it too! It has a good kick from melange of various peppers in the sauce. I highly recommend this place! Be prepared to wait tho, cuz the place is a small hole-in-the-wall, and there are lot of people waiting.
2nd HAMACHI (YELLOW TAIL)
Yonaka Modern Japanese, Las Vegas
Yellowtail sashimi with fennel bulbs, lemon curd, horseradish, garlic purée, and white soy lemon vinaigrette. After being literally punched in the face with a flavor bomb by the previous salmon dish, this one was mild in comparison. And that was just perfect, because who wants to be punched in the face repeatedly albeit it was a tremendously sexy and foodgasmique? This was the gentle lover versus the passionate and dominatrix of the previous course. Both are more than welcome on my palate! :p
PRETTY GOOD
3rd HERRING PLATE
Beaver Choice, Mesa
Swedish picked herring served with finely diced red onions, sour cream, potatoes sprinkled with dill. If you like picked fish, you’d love this dish. I could’ve used less dill, but other than that, it was fantastic!
