A classic French sweet thing. Dominique Ansel might be famous for the cronut, but there's nothing avant-garde or fusion or frankenstein about this!
A purely, plainly simply canele.
Chewy and springy, slightly tough exterior that marks a well caranelised crust. Soft, moist, light and fluffy interior. Not too sweet. Very well made.
Plain and simple, and well executed.
Go for it if you want something classic, not stimulating, simplistic, not too sweet.
