REALLY GOOD
1st GOGIJIANG
The Bao Guys, Petaling Jaya
Soy braised beef, gochujang mayo and kimchi. This was good. Best of the three I ordered.
PRETTY GOOD
2nd STEAMED PIGGY BUN
Dragon-i Peking Duck Restaurant @ 1 Utama Shopping Mall, Petaling Jaya
With a choice of red bean or lotus filling. Feeling undecided? Have one of each! These cute little buns are great for the young or young-at-heart, but really are just ordinary in taste. Still, they do make a pretty picture together :-).
3rd SIGNATURE EGG CUSTARD BUN
Dolly Dim Sum, Sunway Pyramid, Subang Jaya
“Steamed white buns with flowing salted egg yolk caramel”
4th PAU
Ramadan Bazaar, Petaling Jaya
How cute are these????? That roast chicken one especially had us chuckling. We eventually decided on a mushroom pau and a durian (OF COURSE!!!) pau. The mushroom pau was ok, the filling reminded us a little bit of cream of mushroom. But the durian one was good. It had a filling of durian kaya, really nice!
5th BEEF BE WITH YOU
The Bao Guys, Petaling Jaya
Braised beef with scallions and sesame seeds topped with spicy mala in a deep fried bao. It’s not bad, but not as spicy as expected. The bao itself was a tad greasy too.
6th CLUCK NORRIS
The Bao Guys, Petaling Jaya
Fried chicken with Japanese egg mayo and gherkins on a charcoal bun. It’s alright.
