AMAZING
1st PINK GUAVA OOLONG
Yellow Bake Day SS2, Petaling Jaya
Pink guava compote, guava chantilly, oolong chantilly and fresh grapes all sandwiched in between the softest, fluffiest oolong chiffon. Mein Gott this was amazing!
2nd TRES LECHES CAKE

“A type of "wet" cake that's just light, fresh and milky. Vanilla genoise drenched in three types of milk, topped with whipped mascarpone and a light dusting of cinnamon.” So freaking amazing. So light so good so everything! This cake was delivered to me as a gift from the sibling as we are unable to meet up because of the Restricted Movement Order. It’s really too bad (or is it? 😈) that I can’t share it... 😜
3rd NANGKA WHITE CHOCOLATE CAKE

Birthday cake one year ago that I never managed to post. No cake this year as March 18 is the first day of the Restricted Movement Order/Movement Control Order/Controlled Movement Order 😅. This cake was heavenly. Light, fluffy with just the right amount of nangka (jackfruit) without it being too overwhelming. That Last Slice certainly has excellent cakes!

Fragrant pandan cake layered with cream and topped with shredded coconut and shaved gula melaka. Love this cake interpretation of our local favourite onde onde kuih. The cake itself was soft and fluffy, with the gula melaka adding just enough flavour without being overly sweet. A must-try!
5th CHRISTMAS SALTED CARAMEL GINGERBREAD CAKE

Love. So much love. Wish I could take a better picture but this place has really dim lighting. You’ll just have to take my word for it that it’s a really good slice of cake.
6th RUM & RAISIN VALRHONA CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

Celebrating my 1000th post with this uber boozy cake which I ordered for an uber special person. “Valrhona chiffon cake layered with premium dark Valrhona chocolate mousse, generously speckled with rum-infused raisins and smothered with a silken robe of smooth Valrhona ganache…” I went a little crazy and added on an extra shot of rum, chocolate curls, gold leaf deco and macarons. They couldn’t fit the macarons on the cake and ended up sending it to me in a separate box. I guess I got carried away… 🤣.

Strawberry cake with bits of fresh strawberries, vanilla cake and chocolate fudge cake with a chocolate mousse. It’s like eating neapolitan ice cream in cake form. So good!
8th PANDAN SLICE

It’s a simple cake. Just pandan. But boy, do they do it right. Made with no artificial colouring or flavouring, this cake was moist and fragrant with the smell of pandan. That intense green colour comes from the generous amount of pandan juice painstakingly extracted from many, many pandan leaves. Pairs well with coffee.

Fluffy earl grey chiffon cake (and I mean REALLY fluffy!), blueberry filling, fresh yoghurt whipped cream, fresh blueberries. This was so, so good. It’s a ring cake, so the centre part gets filled up with a light and fluffy blueberry cream, and then they cover it up with a tangy yoghurt whipped cream, top it with some fresh blueberries and ta-dah! Diet out the window…
12th APAM BALIK CHIFFON

Seasonal chiffon cake in celebration of our National Day. Pandan coconut chiffon with homemade brown sugar peanut crunch, sweet corn and gula melaka cream. This is magic. Somehow MÄD managed to translate our beloved apam balik into a chiffon cake and it was fabulous! We spoke to one of the co-founders and she confessed that this is her current favourite chiffon cake. It’s available until Malaysia Day but if the response is good they may consider making it a permanent item on their menu. Yay! Selamat Hari Merdeka! 🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾

Chocolate sponge, soft salted caramel, valrhona dulcey crunchy pearls, dark chocolate gourmet glaze and gingerbread cookie glaze. Definitely a great combination of flavours and textures. Eeeeeeee… so good!!! I love anything with gingerbread so this was definitely a winner in my books 😄. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄💝

Lychee rose gélee, watermelon mousse, lychee pulp centre, green tea sponge. All the flavours were delicate and light without canceling one another out. This cake was refreshing, for want of a better word and easy to finish on your own. Nice!

Dark chocolate ganache, dark chocolate mousse, raspberry centre, almond shortbread. Wow. That bittersweet dark chocolate pairs so well with the slightly tart raspberry centre. And the almond shortbread gives a crunchy texture to contrast with the smooth, melt-in-your-mouth mousse. So good.

Chanced upon this quaint little cafe after our lunch at Round that claims to serve “Old fashioned cakes just like how grandma used to bake”. This pandan gula melaka is supposedly one of their top sellers so we had to get a slice to try. It’s soft and fluffy and packed with natural pandan flavour, with some contrasting texture from the aromatic gula melaka and coconut topping. I had to exercise every ounce of my willpower in order not to get another slice to go. Very nice!

Nice and light. I liked the tang from the yogurt layer. Somehow made me feel less guilty about having so many sweet treats this season.

This sold like hot cakes so I’m glad I managed to snag the last slice! Delicate taro mousse sandwiched between soft, fluffy sponge and then topped with almond flakes, pumpkin seeds and shredded coconut for some added texture. So good and light, plus it’s PURPLE!!! 😁

Soft, fluffy vanilla sponge, tart raspberry compote, fragrant coconut... all combined to give the lightest of cakes that just makes you want to keep digging in. I like this. It was perfect with my iced black.
