REALLY GOOD
1st COD AND CHIPS
Battle Axes, Radlett
A Friday special on the menu. Very large piece of cod, skinless and with crunchy batter. Chips were not hot but they were replaced immediately. A very filling and satisfying meal. Great customer service.
PRETTY GOOD
2nd COD AND CHIPS
The Swan, Abbots Langley
A good sized portion of fish, well battered, quite filling as comes with thick cut chips. Was very happy with the large amount of tartare sauce provided with the dish.
3rd FISH AND CHIPS
Chequers Inn, Redbourn
Large portion of chips, well cooked. Fish was heavily battered and was a bit smaller than the batter made it look. Enjoyed however most disappointing was the wait at just over 20minutes and the bar/restaurant wasn’t busy.
JUST OK
4th COD AND CHIPS
The Red House, Croxley Green
Fish was slightly overcooked and a touch dry. Chips, peas etc all cooked to food standard and the presentation was appealing. Part of the two meals for £10.49 so good value for money, has been better in the past and hopefully will be again in the future.
5th COD AND CHIPS
Speckled Hen, United Kingdom
Two small pieces of fish made up the dish. A little disappointing as it wasn’t as filling. All cooked well though.
