I dont really believe that this place is the best fish and chips. But it is at least as good as some of the best I've had. Definitely this area, eg anstruther, st Andrews, pittenweem, crail etc. Has the best fish and chips in the world. Anyway yes really good. If I was being really picky (and only really can be cos I grew up with this) I'd say, maybe I'd prefer the batter a bit crispier and have it softening where it meets the fish inside, but only a slight amount as I dont like when places make the batter too thick or greasy and they had a lovely thin batter and not really greasy. The fish was nicely cooked and fresh and delicious. The chips were perfect, again being picky I personally prefer a little bit crispier. Generous portion size. #pescatarian

Not just the only pub in the village, but a good one. 🏆 The chips stood out as a nice balance between soft, almost creamy inside texture, with a crispy outside, better thsn most of what you can find in London. As a Scottish person, the peas were a sigh of relief - I've grown to tolerate mushy peas, but they are just not the same! Scampi was tasty, not incredible or bad. Chips were more like fries. Some were too hard to eat. So disappointing. The batter on the fish was really thin though 👌🏻 #pescatarian

Good chips, soft inside and crispy outside. The fish was nicely cooked and the batter was good though I think i prefer it less thick, but that's just a different style. There were bones in the fish but not too bad. Overall it was very nicely cooked and good flavours. Too big for me to finish. Mushy peas was barely worth putting on the plate as there wasn't much there! #pescatarian

Fish itself was nice and the chips were fluffy in the middle. Plus garden peas are yummy and portion size was pretty good, if on the large side though not compared to some places! Unfortunately the batter was too greasy and dry, definitely seemed like it had been in for too long, and there was a lot on there. Chips (triple cooked) and salad leaves were very dry. Fish was cod but badly prepared; ended up mushy. Batter had some spices through it which had potential to be quite nice but don't think it paid off. Disappointing and overpriced, wouldn't return. #pescatarian
