Happy National Cooking Day to my fellow home cooks! I cook to eat, but mostly to self-soothe, although the former helps the latter as well when the outcome isn’t disastrous 😅. Thankfully, this comforting, elote-inspired corn chowder from @smittenkitchen checked all the boxes. Enjoyed with a hunk of jalapeño cheddar sourdough. Try it!

Too tired and not hungry enough to want to venture out into the rain for food, so thank goodness for Family Mart. As promised by the packaging, this soup “warm(ed) up my mind and body and it left me feel(ing) relaxed and positive” by the last spoonful. 🙃 Does anyone know what kongaripan means?

Grilled Corn Chowder Champon Style Too much corn silk in the soup. Meant to be served with an aioli inspired by the “clean, umami-rich flavors of yuzu kosho” but I think the server forgot in this case.
