It took 2 hours of simmering and reducing in a rempah broth to produce these tender and juicy chunks of beef. That it smelled amazing throughout kind of compensated for the cooking time.

“Dry caramelized curry cooked over 4 hours with spices and turmeric leaf garnished with serunding.” Tasty and tender but ultimately overshadowed by the Blue Swimmer Crab Curry.

First time trying their chicken rendang. It did not disappoint! #sedap

Shin beef, braised in spicy coconut sauce till tender. Served with Serondeng.

“Simmered beef cooked in spices, chili and coconut.” Another recommended item. The meat is very tender and infused with the rempah flavors but it is a bit too salty for me.

Tried my hand at chicken rendang today, which also happens to be Raya/Eid al-Fitr. Selamat Hari Raya (if you’re in SE Asia) or Eid Mubarak!

“Beef cheeks braised till tender in a rich and aromatic gravy made with 15 different herbs and spice.” Decent as far as rendang goes, but those cheeks could’ve been more tender.

Different than other beef Rendang dishes I’d had. The flavors may have been a tad muted but that wasn’t the only difference. The most underwhelming of the dishes ordered.
