AMAZING
1st YUZU CHU-HAI (ゆず)
Kushikatsu Daruma Dotombori, Osaka
First drink in Osaka. It was so refreshing, I got another one!
REALLY GOOD
2nd PITCHY MATCHA
See Cafe @ Arcoris Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
BRIEF: “Rum, Soju, Shiru Matcha, Peach, Lime, Cointreau, Campari.” SOOT’S TAKE: Grassy, fruity and floral. Not a bad way to kick off National Refreshment Day which I only found out about after the fact.
3rd SEASONAL NEGRONI
Rosemead Singapore, Singapore
BRIEF: “Christian Drouin Gin, Apple Brandy, Dry Sherry, Quince” SOOT’S TAKE: Calling it a Negroni may be a stretch but I really like this. Light and refreshing.

9th MANGO PINEAPPLE PUNCH

🥭🌞🍍 Such a sunny and refreshing excuse to put too-tart-to-eat pineapple to better use!
10th AFURI ハイボール(香る)柚子
AFURI, Shibuya City
Refreshingly crisp highball with their housemade yuzu mix. The icing on the cake when you’ve just experienced a mind-blowing meal.
PRETTY GOOD
11th BLACK CURRANT LIME RICKEY
Vermont Cheese Council, Waitsfield
Black Currant Lime Rickey @ VERMONT CHEESEMAKERS FESTIVAL 2015.
12th GINGER-MINT RASPBERRY COLLINS
Shelburne Farms, Shelburne
Ginger-Mint Raspberry Collins @ VERMONT CHEESEMAKERS FESTIVAL 2015.
13th BON APPÉTIT’S APEROL-KOMBUCHA COCKTAIL
Soots Cook Nook, Private
For Tropical Cocktails Day, an ode to bentong ginger, that glorious aromatic rhizome that currently infuses my home brew, very flagrantly spiked with mezcal and Aperol of course.
14th COCKTAIL REPORTER’S PIMM’S CUP
Soots Cook Nook, Private
I ain’t paying £9.70 for a Pimm’s at Wimbledon. 🥒🍓🍊🎾
15th OAXACA TONIC
Señor Taco Chijmes, Singapore
Juniper infused Mezcal, Premium Tonic, Fresh Juniper Berries, Orange Peel
16th AMERICA’S TEST KITCHEN’S PIMM'S CUP
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Seemed appropriate with an Indonesian-inspired family-style meal.
17th MELON MILK

Smirnoff Vodka, Giffard Melon Liqeuer, Milk, Pandan Syrup, Butterscotch Schnapps
18th FROZEN IN TIME
Hopscotch (Gillman Barracks), Singapore
Archer’s Peach, Poire William Pear, Sauvignon Blanc, Flavor Changing Ice, Soda, Lime Squeeze. Here’s the part where we begin melting the ice!
19th CAMBODIA LIBRE
Soots Cook Nook, Private
It’s like a li hing mui-flavored cola, and it renders the lemon & lemongrass sombai much more palatable.
20th OLD CHICANO
El Mero Mero | Cocina Mexicana, Singapore
“Fat-Washed 1800 Anejo Tequila, Chocolate Liqueur, Old-Fashioned bitters, Chocolate bitters, Smoked Wood Chips.” Free chips and a bell jar of fog with my happy hour drink. These guys rock! This left me wondering about 2 things: 1. Is this the $5 nitrogen table service that’s on the menu that somehow, is on the house? 2. Do they think I’m a food reviewer? Regardless, I’m thrilled about the table service and the happy hour prices. 🥳
21st PINK ELEPHANT
Houlihan's, Champaign
“Premium French vodka infused with organic blood orange juice, mango and passion fruit, topped with La Marca Prosecco.” This reminded me of Ispahan.
JUST OK
23rd STRAWBERRY FIELDS
Jigger & Pony, Singapore
BRIEF: “A super Singapore-grown strawberry? We'll toast to that! The Singrow strawberry is modified to grow in tropical climates, where it lends itself to a fruity and refreshing tipple. We preserve all the berry flavours through cold extraction, and balance it with light green and earthy notes of strawberry leaf and tequila.” SOOT’S TAKE: Not a huge fan (it tasted kind of medicinal). Nonetheless, a toast to friendships forged and revived over decades across oceans.
24th CAIPIRINHA
POOL BAR - VOYAGER OF THE SEAS®, Singapore - Port Klang - Phuket - Singapore
“Leblon Cachaça with fresh lime sugarcane mix.” This was watered-down and disappointing half-filled. I wonder if it had anything to do with the bartender trying to discourage me from ordering it because he thought it’d be too strong for me? 😡
