In what we'll term a "what the hell" moment, me, @furflebear & shob went ahead and ordered this $60 piece of sushi TO SHARE. I don't think I'd ever had raw beef before but I was pleasantly surprised by its buttery flavor. The price? $60 + tax + mild disdain and outrage from the chef when yours truly requested that he dissect it for sharing. :P

Well, so far I've had this just about 100% of the time I've been at Ichiro with furflebear & co. Exquisite.

Kagoshima Wagyu Sushi with ponzu sauce. OMG, this was AMAZING!!

My third time here and they still didn’t have salmon belly 😭 When I finally resorted to asking the server how to avoid missing it, she said to to come at 6 PM on Mondays.

Had this as part of an omakase in which they gave me the freedom to decide how the uni would be served. They were quite a bit smaller than I’m used to but at least they didn’t remind me of the sewers.

Well-crafted, although the shiso was fake this time. I think the top was tuna salad.

This set acquitted itself well. Even parts of the set I've traditionally not liked (tuna and tamago) were elevated in a way I'd not experienced before.

These were a steal at $9.90. What a serendipitous find on a day that I wanted this!

I can taste the reason this is more than twice the price of its regular counterpart. It is a notch above in taste and texture.

This would be pretty good compared to its Aomori counterpart but still very good on its own merits.

Norwegian salmon atop Japanese rice cooked in-house and that’s mixed in “special sushi vinegar.” “Freshly made everyday for you!”

Salmon in 3 forms: Nigiri, Maki, and Sashimi. Plus a bowl of soup that wasn’t miso (it was oden)! Been eyeing this place for a while and today seemed like a good day to take the plunge. I enjoyed this more than I enjoyed looking at the photo I took of the dish. Would make repeat visit for the other offerings.

Sooty’s Sushi Selection. Can we say alliteration? At any rate, this was a good night to have sushi since the wait in line past 9PM was less than 5 minutes and I hadn't had sushi since June.

I’ve been aware of this sushi chain a whiles now but have never tried it. I’m glad I finally did today because I can now eat sushi at a place within running distance ! 🍣 🏃‍♀️ Also, I ignored all instructions on their placemat to consume 🍣 like a bona fide nihonjin and piled on the wasabi. I still enjoyed it.

From right: Salmon Roll, Chumaki, Avocado & Softshell Crab Roll, California Roll & Sweet Shrimp Roll So Google Translate tells me the name of this sushi set means “sunflower roll set.” What a name, and what a deal at $10.20!

These looked kind of tired and sad and while they didn’t taste quite as sad, their appearance was still kind of a bummer.
