Figs and feta were on sale. The figs weren’t at their best, so caramelizing them in the oven made sense, which nevertheless did not improve their flavor sufficiently. Thankfully, there were other elements in the pide to fill this flavor vacuum such as the zesty, herby feta-yoghurt filling and the incredibly well-seasoned bread dough.
