AMAZING
1st HOT HONEY CHICKEN SKINS
Grace Meat + Three, St. Louis
Now this was truly amazing! The least healthy thing on the menu and of course I’m in love with it. This appetizer is worth going back for! Wow!
2nd SMOKED & FRIED CHICKEN THIGH
Sugarfire Smoke House, Saint Charles
I had their chicken biscuit, minus the biscuit and with extra buffalo sauce & they topped it with their honey butter. Fantastic, I tell ya! It comes with one side but they left you get 2 half sides if you want. I chose BBQ spaghetti and loaded baked potato salad. I was in heaven! Ate the other half for dinner & chased it with a healthy green juice! ;)
3rd HOT CHICKEN BISCUIT
Sugarfire Smoke House, Saint Charles
I like this pic, hope you do too! Huge sandwich. This new, 2nd location of Sugarfire occupies a former Chuck-A-Burger space complete with drive up car park service. They did a great job of respecting the old building and in updating it to their eclectic taste. Who would love a KitchenAid stand mixer lamp?!
REALLY GOOD
4th HOT CHICKEN BISCUIT
Frontier Perk Cafe, Saint Charles
First rate biscuit was a bit crisp & buttey on the outside and fluffy inside. One of the best biscuits I’ve had in a while. Honey hot chicken was not spicy hot at all, so I asked for extra and when that didn’t help, I asked for hot sauce. The Cholula sauce helped a little. The potatoes were too salty to eat, but I don’t really like breakfast potatoes anyway. The salted caramel latte I ordered with it was super sweet and good. That might be because I asked for only one shot of espresso.
PRETTY GOOD
5th HOT CHICKEN
Grace Meat + Three, St. Louis
This chicken is hyped to the max in STL. I love them on social media and have been really looking forward to getting my hands on some. Unfortunately, it was not spicy at all and the chicken was just OK. I’m kind of bummed and hate to say anything negative about any restaurants right now since they are all struggling... it’s good chicken it’s just not great.
6th FRIED CHICKEN
Chicken Coop, St. Peters
This place has a faithful following and has been here for years and years. I’ve always meant to try them and I think they were pretty good but I like a lot more crunchy breading and this was very light.
7th FRIED CHICKEN
Pere Marquette Lodge & Conference Center, Grafton
Mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, coleslaw & rolls. Lodge is 75 years old this year!
8th FRIED CHICKEN SKIN
Han Lao, Brentwood
Like pork rinds, but chicken.
