AMAZING
1st GRILLED SCALLOP, CORN SOUP, SHISHITO & LEMON CONFIT
Público, University City
Weekend finale with @SuliC @Publicostl Grilled George's bank scallop with buttermilk corn soup, grilled shishito peppers, lemon confit and toasted sesame. This scallop was truly fantastic. The soup was sweet & tasted of freshly shucked Missouri corn & the char on the shishito was perfect. Entire dish was very well balanced.
2nd SNOW CRAB & SHRIMP BOIL
The Kickin Crab Saint Louis, Olivette
This place is SO delicious! This is a chain restaurant but they are in California and Texas and this is their first restaurant in Missouri. More of these types of places are popping up and I’ve been to a couple of others but this is by far my favorite. Their “kicking it easy” sauce is fantastic and their portion sizes are large and reasonably priced. I got 2 1/2 meals out of this shrimp and crab combo. They are only offering carry out due to COVID-19, which is fine with me. As you can see I had to plate it on a sheet pan! 🤣 there are two large crab clusters, at least 10 large shrimp, three pieces of sausage, a hard-boiled egg, and a piece of corn on the Cobb. The spicy Cajun butter was plentiful and of course I paid for it later ... 👀 💩... but it was worth it. 🥺🤣
3rd SEAFOOD TOWER
The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Orlando
Fresh Seafood simply and perfectly prepared.
3rd SEAFOOD TOWER
The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Orlando
Create your own seafood tower. My friend Greg surprised me and treated me to dinner here on my birthday. Everything is fresh and fantastic. The ceviche was a real stand out as were the oysters!
4th STIR-FRIED SPICY SQUID
Yori, Hurst
I wish I could describe the spicy, deeply umami flavor of this dish to do it justice. I now dream of ordering this again. It's incredible.
5th STIR-FRIED SPICY SQUID
WUDON BBQ KOREAN RESTAURANT, St. Louis
Deeply flavorful, spicy & comes to the table sizzling! Yum!
REALLY GOOD
6th CRAB & SHRIMP COMBO
The Kickin Crab Saint Louis, Olivette
Delicious! I added a side of garlic noodles, they are great to stop up the extra kickin’ it easy sauce.
7th SEAFOOD BOIL
The Kickin Crab Saint Louis, Olivette
One large snow crab cluster, half pound jumbo shrimp, sausages, corn on the cob, and a hard-boiled egg with kicking crab Cajun seasoning butter. $21.99 Love it!
8th CLAMS, MUSSELS, SHRIMP & SAUSAGE IN BUTTER BROTH
Metropolitan Farmer, Springfield
Very savory with lots of sage. Very good and I sopped up the broth with their fantastic bread.
9th SHRIMP SCAMPI
Bristol Seafood Grill, O'Fallon
Shrimp scampi with garlic whipped potatoes and asparagus. Only $23 during happy hour for three-course dinner. This included lobster bisque and dessert and I chose crème brûlée.
10th SEAFOOD WITH CHARRED RICE
Mai Lee, Brentwood
An off-menu special and fantastic! Plump shrimp, Scallops, squid & Krab.
11th PARRILLA LEVANTA MUERTOS
Mariscos El Galleo, St. Louis
This is the SMALL plate! Parrilla Levanta Muertos has crab legs, clams, shrimp, octopus, scallops and mussels. The spicy, limey, buttery sauce was a flavor bomb and the raw red onion is genius to cut through all of that richness. The cucumber & tomato slices were welcome relief from the spice that builds as you eat. Bring tissues for your nose, but they've got you covered with paper towels for your messy hands! :)
13th SEAFOOD TRIO
Bongo Beach Bar and Grille, St. Pete Beach
Perfectly cooked & chilled jumbo shrimp, smoked fish dip with water crackers and scallops with an orange balsamic drizzle. The perfect starter for two or a great lunch for one. We really enjoyed sitting on the beach and listening to the live music while waiting for the sun to set. This is the perfect beach restaurant and bar.
14th MAHI-MAHI FISH DIP
Tavern at the Creek, Orlando
I really enjoyed this fish dip. It’s a must have on any menu in Florida and depending on the restaurant the type of fish used varies.
PRETTY GOOD
15th SEAFOOD TOWER FOR TWO
Ocean Zen, Springfield
Maine lobster tails, blue point oysters, king crab legs, scallop ceviche and skewered shrimp with 3 dipping sauces. This restaurant moved to a new location and updated their menu. It's very modern and chic. A great date place.
17th ANGRY COMBO SEAFOOD BOIL
The Mad Crab, St. Louis
This was pretty good, but very expensive. We like The Kickin Krab restaurant a lot better. This combo is 1 pound of a premium seafood and we chose snow crab and 3 lbs. of other seafood and we chose clams, mussels and shrimp. You have a choice of three sauces or a combination of them and we chose a combination called the whole shebang. It’s Cajun, garlic, and lemon pepper. The sauce choices at the Kickin Krab are much tastier, but we couldn’t get in there because it was such a long line and there was no wait at this restaurant. Now we know why.
