REALLY GOOD
1st PAIN AU CHOCOLAT
Exmouth Market Grind, London
We were told they couldn’t sell us this pastry as it was no longer fresh (as it was after 4pm on the day it was baked), so they literally gave it to us and it was still better than some of the pastries I’ve paid solid money for lately! Yes, it wasn’t peak freshness but still light and flakey.
NOT FOR ME
2nd PAIN AU CHOCOLAT
CyCo Cafe, Coulsdon
This looked so tasty and they offered to warm it up so I had high expectations... expectations that were not met. This tasted like a days-old pastry that had been stored in the fridge. As such even post “warming up” it was room temperature with cold hard chocolate in the middle and dry, stale pastry.
