If you love cinnamon and you love bready Nordic pastry, you will love this!

The cinnamony icing on top was delicious! But overall it was a bit too crispy and dry for me. Perhaps a touch over-baked?

I keep trying different things and hoping they’ll taste good. This looked nice, and I thought maybe the slightly more bready texture might lend itself to their vegan baking style, but no. Still tastes too dense and this lacked the amount of cinnamon and fruit I wanted to see. I may have to give up on Coughlans, which is a shame - they used to have some really lovely cakes and pastries.

Vanilla Slice is a classic Australian pastry and I was excited for my husband to try one, but these were disappointing. The pastry wasn’t crisp or flakey, the filling seemed too solid/gelatinous and the topping didn’t taste of passionfruit at all. Needless to say the husband wasn’t impressed...
