REALLY GOOD
1st AMÁ'S GUACAMOLE
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Happy National Guacamole Day! This year’s iteration involves the addition of celery which I’ve never done before and that I will admit to being a little skeptical about until I grated it in and tried it, You don’t taste the celery quite as much as it offers a light and fresh counterbalance to the richness of the avocados. And thus, “the secret to Bar Amá's guacamole is” revealed (not that you wouldn’t have found out from reading their menu). 😆
3rd GUACAMOLE
Tía Lily’s House, Villa Pueyrredón
I love how clean-tasting this was. Lily might’ve said she soaked the lemons in salt before squeezing them. I wish I’d taken 📝!
PRETTY GOOD
4th GUACAMOLE
Señor Taco Chijmes, Singapore
BRIEF: “Smashed Avocados, diced tomatoes, serrano, coriander & lime.” SOOT’S TAKE: Thought I was getting guacamole (from more than a 1/4 of an 🥑) + chips for $8. Turns out, it’s an extra $6 if you want chips to go with! Oh well, I had to use this meal voucher or lose it.
5th NYT COOKING’S GUACAMOLE WITH GRILLED CORN
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Happy National Guacamole Day! My first guac with aged Cotija cheese and grilled corn. The latter adds a nice sweetness to the whole deal but I may reconsider the cheese.
6th GUAC A LA GEWÜRZHAUS GUACAMOLE SPICE
