At quite possibly the poshest Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been, courtesy of a fabulously wealthy relation. They’ve got the prettiest flatware I’ve ever seen at any Chinese restaurant I’ve been.

Warming your nuts (literally): always a good idea.

Braised peanuts and chestnuts, but mostly peanuts.

From what I can gather, these cracker nuts have various flavor coatings that include plum powder, sesame, shrimp, green seaweed, kelp, cheese (ok, did not taste that one coming), squid, etc. etc…in the manner of King Brynner.
