1st PAN SEARED CHILEAN SEABASS
Akar, Clayton
Pan seared Chilean sea bass serve with saffron-turmeric rice, Golden raisins, crispy shallots, arugula, bonito shrimp curry broth. Delicious. $48
3rd CHILEAN SEA BASS
Erio's Ristorante, St. Peters
This off-menu item was delicious! They posted on social media that they just flew in some fresh sea bass and I jumped on it! Lightly breaded and pan seared with a lemon caper sauce on a bed of spinach. Delicious!!
4th PANANG CRISPY GROUPER WITH AUBERGINE
Viet-Thai St Peters, St. Peters
The BOMB! I asked for aubergine vs. the green pepper it normally comes with. Their Penang curry sauce is addictive.
5th PAN SEARED GROUPER IN LOBSTER WITH GNOCCHI, ASPARAGUS & GRAPE TOMATOES
Babbo's Spaghetteria, Chesterfield
Pan seared grouper in lobster broth with gnocchi, asparagus & grape tomatoes. One of the best dishes I've had here and that's high praise. This restaurant buys fresh ingredients daily and uses seasonal ingredients. They do not own a freezer or a microwave. Awesome!
6th SEAFOOD STUFFED TRIGGER FISH
The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Orlando
The best meal I’ve had so far this year. Thanks to my good friend Greg for driving 2 hours to take me out for my birthday! 🌴🍹
6th SEAFOOD STUFFED TRIGGER FISH
The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Orlando
This was epic. Triggerfish is a meaty fish, kind of like halibut, and the seafood stuffing was generous on the Seafood with Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs and other goodness. I would order this again and again.
7th BASIL GROUPER
Viet-Thai St Peters, St. Peters
Fan-freaking-tactic! A flavor explosion to the last bite! Perfectly fried Grouper, not even a hint of grease. Order this, you won’t be sorry!
8th HALIBUT
EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery, Chesterfield
California halibut served on sautéed apple, chayote & zucchini finished with a tamarind-morita sauce with spinach and sun-dried tomato gnocchi. Heavenly!
9th PISTACHIO CRUSTED GROUPER
Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Town and Country
Pistachio-crusted Grouper Mustard Sauce, Mary's Potatoes (smashed red potatoes), Asparagus. Cooked perfectly! #yum
10th HALIBUT
Walnut Grill- Ellisville, Ellisville
Grilled halibut with shaved veggies.
11th PAN SEARED GROUPER WITH SPRING PEA RISOTTO
Walnut Grill- Ellisville, Ellisville
One of the fish specials. Grouper is always a good idea. My friend loved it & she knows her grouper! It was delish!
12th HALIBUT
Bristol Seafood Grill, O'Fallon
Wood grilled halibut finished with lemon, potato sage gratin & lemon asparagus risotto. Enjoyed this very much! Service here is very attentive & atmosphere is upscale yet casual. Very fresh seafood flown in.
14th ROASTED RED SNAPPER IN LOBSTER BROTH
Babbo's Spaghetteria, Chesterfield
With spinach, tomato, and just a touch of fennel. Light and delicious.
REALLY GOOD
15th BARRAMUNDI
Three Kings Public House, Des Peres
Really wonderful broiled Barramundi over riced cauliflower, green beans, red peppers in a lemon caper butter sauce. Special of the day. Yum!
16th RED SNAPPER ALEXANDER
FD's Grillhouse, Springfield
Red snapper topped with shrimp and crawfish and Alexander sauce. The Alexander sauces is a Cajun Alfredo. Served with matchstick steamed summer vegetables. This was delicious!
17th SWEET & SOUR POMPANO
The Oakville Bistro, St. Louis
Filipino specialty. A nice lightly sweet-and-sour sauce not heavy and gloopy like what we are used to at American-Chinese sweet-and-sour.
19th PICKLED HERRING & VEGGIE BOARD
The Schlafly Tap Room, St. Louis
2nd attempt to get pic to load... Nice presentation!
21st RAINBOW TROUT ALMANDINE
YaYas Euro Bistro in Chesterfield, Chesterfield
Woodfired trout with a buerre noisette sauce served with green beans and cauliflower purée.
22nd HALIBUT
YaYas Euro Bistro in Chesterfield, Chesterfield
My dining companions dinner…it was a bit better than mine but also $12 more. The halibut was super thin and not how I’m used to being served. - in a nice flaky chunk. Lol
PRETTY GOOD
23rd WHITE FISH SPREAD
Kohn's Kosher Meat and Deli Restaurant, St. Louis
Pretty good white fish spread. It had chopped eg too, which I liked. I ate it on cucumber slices.
25th MAHI MAHI
The Trophy Room at Old Kinderhook, Camdenton
The trophy room at Old Kinderhook is a very traditional looking golf clubhouse overlooking on Old Kinderhook golf course. Lots of dark wood, leather chairs and elderly people in golf attire. The mahi-mahi suffered a bit from the ride home - it was overcooked (probably carry over cooking) and the jalapeño grits had the consistency of mashed potatoes. I asked for maître d’ mushrooms on the side and instead they were dumped on top of the fish. The flavors were good though and it was a healthier dinner.
26th HALIBUT
Katerina's Greek Restaurant, Clayton
The fish was a bit over cooked ...the toppings were good.
