Ban Chan madness

Just a little ban Chan with friends! So yum and ayce!

How could I not order the dish that is only 3 letters off from my last name?! This was divine. Cheese with fresh herbs.

Restaurant name is just "Mama's" now since the Campisi family no longer own it. This restaurant was featured on FoodNetwork's "Restaurant Impossible" in 2013. This appetizer was huge and a great value at just over $13.00.

Falafel, baba ganoush, hummus &stuffed grape leaves.

PORK SUGO $12 BRAISED PORK RIB TIPS TOMATO GRAVY BAETJE FARMS GOAT CHEESE TOAST Really good. Local MO farm pork & cheese.

Generous house made liverwurst on thick pumpernickel toasts, topped with cherry onion jam and pea shoots and dilll & horseradish deviled eggs. This was a great late night snack after the wine tasting at the botanical garden (Shaw's Garden - Grapes in the Garden).

Jalea Mixta Crispy calamari, shrimp, wahoo and chilis with basil aioli and yellow pepper mayo.

In a chili burre blanc. Delicious!

Beautiful but the pimento cheese was not the best I’ve ever had. I like it with sharp cheddar and seemed too mild.

White bean hummus, pesto & tomato burrata & crostini, fried plantains with guacamole, & red curry deviled eggs.

This was pretty good, but honestly the best part of the entire thing were the crispy fried capers. 

I had high expectations for an “onion straws and spicy jalapeño straw” type of vibe. But these just tasted like overcooked breading and no other flavor.
