FRIED OKRA
The Colonnade, Atlanta
As one of Atlanta’s finest restaurants, The Colonnade offers exceptional service, Southern fried chicken, fresh fish, and fresh country vegetables. Our-family-owned-and-operated restaurant is dedicated to quality and friendly dining.
We feature our own homemade dressings, sauces, pies and everybody’s favorite homemade yeast rolls. Our generous portions of chicken, steaks, seafood and pork aim to please any discerning palate. Our creative and talented chef continues to offer innovative and unique nightly specials while maintaining outstanding quality.
The Colonnade was founded in 1927 in a small, white- columned house at the corner of Piedmont Road and Lindbergh Drive where it thrived until losing its lease in 1962. Under the leadership of Frank Tarleton, the owner for most of its early history, it became one of the city’s best-loved eateries. When it moved to its current location in 1962, customers kept coming.
The Jones family has owned the Colonnade since 1979. The restaurant expanded in 1982 to include a full service bar with a cozy fireplace, dining room with seating for just under 200 patrons, and a comfortable banquet room.
We offer traditional southern fare including North Georgia rainbow trout, roast pork and dressing, prime rib, and fresh vegetables. The chef adds nighlty specials which may feature kangaroo, fresh fish, or a special twist on our southern features.
