NEW YORK CHEESECAKE WITH BERRY COMPOTE

I was excited by the number of red currants in the compote because I thought that meant it would be Taaaaaaart, but alas they have to cater to more mainstream tastes so whilst pleasant, it was fairly sweet and when combined with the cheesecake (which was also heavy on the sweet), it was just too much sweetness for me.
