SCHILCHERSEKT
Schlosswirtschaft Maxlrain, Tuntenhausen
Last but not least - this lovely glass of bubbly came with dessert... and almost outshined it! Schilcher is a wine from Austria, the western part of Styria, and is the smallest wine growing region in Europe so a bottle from here is a total treat. The grape was once a wild variety (which supposedly caused WILD inebriation - hence the nickname "Rabid Pearl") and while we did not get wildly inebriated, we did enjoy sipping it and gazing onto the old cars lining up for the town's vintage car event, the Bavarian Classic.
