[From the PICK.A.COOKIES kiosk] We could smell the butter from the cakes on display even though they were wrapped up. Had to buy a sample box of these intricate, brightly-coloured delights from the state of Sarawak. The layers in the cake are baked one at a time, with a new layer added on top every few minutes. It is then cut and arranged to form patterns, held together with jam. This admittedly is not the most intricate of designs that I have seen but it is rich and delicious. Take note that this is from a pop-up stall at the mall and will only be here until 28 July 2024 before they return to Kuching. By the way, they make really adorable looking cookies as well! 😊
